Lalaria Beach
Approaching Lalaria is like sailing into a postcard from another world. As your boat rounds the northern cape, the sudden sight of the towering, bleached-white cliffs against the neon-blue water is breathtaking. There is a profound silence here, broken only by the sound of the Aegean lapping against the millions of perfectly round marble pebbles known locally as “lalaria”; which clink together like marbles with every wave. The water deepens almost instantly, shifting from a pale mint green to a royal sapphire. Swimming through the “Trypia Petra” archway at noon, when the sun is directly overhead, creates a shimmering light show on the seabed that is unlike anything else in Greece.
